Il 28 maggio 2021 JUSTIN SULLIVAN, il frontman dei New Model Army, pubblicherà il suo nuovo album solista, il secondo dopo 18 anni di attesa. “Surrounded” sarà una raccolta di sedici nuovi brani, scritti nelle prime settimane del lockdown del 2020 e sarà pubblicato su earMUSIC.

Registrato quasi interamente in casa l’album vede la partecipazione di numerosi musicisti quali Jon Thorne al basso (Lamb), Tom Moth all’arpa (Florence and the Machine), più alcuni arrangiamenti per archi composti da Tobias Unterberg, Henning Nügel e Shir-Ran Yinon. L’album vede inoltre la partecipazione di tutti i membri attuali dei Nel New Model Army ed è stato mixato da Lee Smith presso i Greenmount Studios di Leeds.“Surrounded” sarà pubblicato nei formati CD Media Book, 2LP da 180gr e in digitale.

Nella formato Limited CD Box-Set Edition di “Surrounded” sarà incluso anche il primo album solista di Sullivan, “Navigating By The Stars”, pubblicato nel 2003, con l’aggiunta delle bonus track “Sooner Or Later” e “The Wreck Of Essex”. L’album sarà pubblicato successivamente nel corso dell’anno anche in formato stand-alone.

Justin Sullivan about “Clean Horizon”:
“I think that unaffected simplicity is the holy grail for song-writers, but of course you can’t make it happen by force of will or by hard work. I think that it’s more a case of being open to what comes. Just occasionally there are songs that kind of write themselves. I fall into conversation with a person – it might be someone I know well or a complete stranger – and in the course of the conversation I can suddenly see directly into the person’s heart, I can read their story and I ‘feel them’ and I want to write it. Combine this with a simple melody and it’s done.  
Clean Horizon was one such song written very quickly the morning after one of these conversations, recorded at home with just a guitar and voice and with the later addition of my friend Tobias Unterberg’s emotive cellos.”
